Woodturning for fibre
I've been making things out of wood for over 10 years, all kinds of things - big things like round houses, board walks and bridges, and small things like spoons, baskets and bowls.
Yarn Bowls
I especially like making wooden bowls, and after my partner asked me to make her a yarn bowl I've been slowly perfecting my skills at making those.
After many prototypes, and months of practice, I'm finally at a point where I think they're good enough to sell. On this page, you'll see some examples of bowls I've made in the past (also check out my instagram for making of photos).
Custom bobbins
I've also been working on making new bobbins to match those used on old spinning wheels. Given a set of measurements for the size of a bobbin, I should be able to make one which matches those dimensions. I can also make Wendy bobbins with the correct sized brass tube. New bobbins may not match the color or style of the originals perfectly, but they will work just as well.
Darning mushrooms
I've recently been developing the making of darning mushrooms, in a variety of styles and sizes. Some of these have a removable stem with a compartment for holding needles, others are glued securely in place.
Sales
I currently only make items for sale to order. If you're interested in buying something, or have any questions, please get in touch using the form below, or via instagram.
I'm also always interested in learning to make new objects - I'm already looking into making drop spindles and skein winders. If there's something else you'd be interested in buying if I made it, please do get in touch.
